Annmarie grew up in Leeds where she was leader of the Leeds Youth Orchestra, performing the Bruch Violin Concerto with them on a European tour.  Aged 15 she joined the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and subsequently became a founder member and the principal second violin of the London Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.

Annmarie went on to study violin and piano at the Royal College of Music. During her time there she was the leader of the RCM 20th Century Ensemble and the principal second violin of the RCM Sinfonietta.

Annmarie, as a freelance violinist, has worked with many orchestras including the London Concert Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Opera North, English Symphony Orchestra, Bath Philharmonia, London Musical Theatre Orchestra, Chineke, Southern Pro Musica, and Opera Della Luna.  She leads Carshalton Opera and has been the leader of Sutton Symphony Orchestra since 2011.

As well as recording sessions, Annmarie has played for many touring and West End shows including The Producers, Annie Get Your Gun and Company.  She spent eight years in the orchestra of the London production of Les Miserables at The Palace Theatre and is now a regular deputy. 

Annmarie has worked with a variety of artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Jose Carreras, Jessye Norman, Audra McDonald and Rita Moreno.  As a soloist, works performed include Mozart’s A major and G major concertos, Beethoven’s Romances, Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, The Lark Ascending and the double violin concertos of Bach and Malcolm Arnold.

Annmarie is also passionate about music education for young pupil, tutoring for National Schools Symphony Orchestra, South London Music Days and Sutton Music Trust.

Annmarie has been the leader of Surrey Mozart Players since 2019.

She plays on a violin made for her in 1991 by Nigel Harris.
