Conductor & Composer Edward Farmer has recently worked with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Festival Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Lucerne Festival Strings, Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich, and Gstaad Festival Orchestra. In 2017/18 he looks forward to working with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Opera i Filharmonia Podlaska, Surrey Mozart Players, and continuing in his role as Music Director of London Arts Orchestra.

During studies at the Royal College of Music, Edward founded London Arts Orchestra (LAO), a cross arts ensemble described as "an intoxicating combination of arts, visuals, music, and storytelling" by the Huffington Post. He recently presented a talk on such projects, and the future of classical music performance for TEDx, entitled “The Power of Familiarity”. After graduation Edward served as Assistant Conductor to Ivan Fischer and Budapest Festival Orchestra, and took part in training programmes with Bernard Haitink, Michael Tilson Thomas,  David Zinman, and Neeme & Paavo Järvi.

As a composer, Edward writes and orchestrates for stage and screen. He was selected by the Royal Opera House to work in their "VOX" programme, on the development of new opera. His music has been broadcast on UK television, nominated for a European film music award at the Soundtrack Cologne Festival, and featured in over 30 theatre productions. He is currently working on a piano concerto with world music pianist Alex Wilson, a music theatre piece for Wilton's Music Hall, and a constantly developing a portfolio of music for film and television.
